The built up to Ripple’s Swell conference in San Francisco caused a boost of XRP halfway through September and now, as the event takes off, the whole crypto community has turned towards San Francisco.

Ripple’s playing for keeps

Ripple’s Swell conference is an annual event in the crypto world that always brings a lot of attention to it. This year it’s held on 1st and 2nd of October in San Francisco, the home of Ripple’s headquarters. Some of the company’s enthusiast also predict that during the conference there will be an announcement of some sort that might influence the exchange rates of cryptocurrencies in the future.

Entertainment alongside knowledge

Ripple, as always, decided to provide a lot of interesting content for the conference audience. Yesterday, U.S. former president Bill Clinton made an appearance along with National Economic Council Director, Gene Sperling. Later that day, an award winning rock band Counting Crows performed in front of the conference participants. A lot of Swell events were posted on Ripple’s Twitter account for all interested parties that didn’t attend the celebration.

Some of Ripple’s biggest partners, such as Banco Santander, Siam Commercial Bank and InstaREM also promised to be present at the event.

Alongside the conference, Ripple has been working on some other developments, too. Their cross-border payments settlement product – xRapid, we’ve written about it earlier, has been upgraded to its full, commercial version. Ripple has signed agreements with three international clients: MercuryFX, Cuallix and Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union. Earlier this year the first two firms participated in an experiment which included sending a charity payment to Mexico in record time of a few seconds, unlike the standard couple of days.

Promising partnership

All three of Ripple’s new business partners have presented very optimistic views on their cooperation and all future transactions, which Ripple generously quoted on their website. MercuryFX, Cuallix and Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union praised all the benefits of the partnership. They also assured that RippleNet and their newly launched xRapid are absolute game changers on the cryptocurrency stage.

Events such as the annual Swell aren’t just an entertainment and an easy way to promote Ripple. They also boost Ripple’s crypto token, XRP, which went up magnificently in mid-September, in a build up to the conference. They’ve also announced another event, which will take place in Toronto on October 16-18. It is left to see how the crypto market will respond to that.
