Polish Stock Exchange Will Create Blockchain Platform
Giełda Papierów Wartościowych (GPW), the main Polish stock exchange, is working on a platform for tokenized assets based on blockchain. The exchange will use distributed ledger technology (DLT).
Poland may change the course if it comes to the blockchain ventures. A few weeks ago, the Polish Parliament approved a new amendment concerning the taxation of cryptocurrency trading.
Will new tech improve the exchange?
Polish stock exchange wants to take advantage of blockchain technology. According to Marek Dietl, President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the platform will use the technology to make more transparent private issuance. He said:
“We want to use the blockchain in our new initiative called Private Market. It is the private market with the capability to issue tokenized financial instruments. The blockchain seems ideal to do that. E-voting system via the technology could improve our platform.” (translated by blockchain24.co)
The president of GPW is confident that the new technology will ease the process of the company reporting. He thinks that the new year will bring new solutions to the financial industry. The Polish exchange is planning to extend partnerships with technology firms in order to spread blockchain technology over other economic branches.
Dietl added that the Ministry of Finance see potential in blockchain and want to work on new developments of this technology.
