Today, we share with you what happened over the weekend in the cryptocurrency world. They were certainly a few good days for the cryptocurrency technology. While Bitcoin’s price is dropping, the rest of the crypto world grows stronger. ASUS, Sirin Labs and Xolaris present their innovations.

Finney in Barcelona

The promised launch of the first blockchain-based smartphone has happened on the last day of November. As we wrote about a month ago, Finney offers a built-in crypto wallet, a new, modified version of Android and multiple protection solutions to ensure all the user’s data is well secured. It’s definitely a big innovation for the crypto maniacs out there.

The presale has been going on for over a month. Now, Sirin Labs has presented the physical model of the phone at a release party in Barcelona. There were many technological presentations of the features along with an appearance of the Sirin brand ambassador – Lionel Messi. The Finney phone is available to order on the Sirin Labs website and it costs 999 USD. Obviously, you can also pay with crypto.

ASUS promotes mining

Mining is a process that requires a lot of energy and also very efficient and advanced computer devices. Not every computer is able to manage such complicated operations. But most gamers happen to be in possession of just the right kind of equipment.  Recently ASUS, the worldwide known computer hardware provider, has started to encourage gamers to make use of their powerful gaming devices to mine cryptocurrencies.

Therefore, the company has partnered with a blockchain firm Quantumcloud. Professional software, delivered by the new partner, will allow the gamers to utilise their idle computer equipment for cryptocurrency mining. So, ASUS has officially entered the cryptocurrency space and started encouraging their gaming clients to do so, as well.

The funds for miners

And we are not dropping the topic of mining. This time though, it concerns developing the whole mining industry. A German investment management company Xolaris has officially launched a private fund dedicated to mining. It will be used to finance new mining projects and develop the existing ones.

The first investment of Xolaris has been already established. It’s an already existing mining facility in Sweden. Right now it includes around 2,000 miners. Thanks to the Xolaris funds, the capacity will be broadened, which will help the mine to develop further.
