Bitpoint, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, announces the launch of a crypto-to-fiat trading platform in Panama. The expansion to Latin America is a big step for the Asian-based company. It will certainly have a massive influence on Panama’s crypto market in the near future.

Panama in the world of crypto

A couple years back, Panama was named one of the most crypto-investing countries in the world. Then, we didn’t hear a lot about this small Latin American country for a while. People interested in cryptocurrencies turned towards the near located Venezuela that tried to fight economic crisis with crypto solutions. But now again, Panama is drawing the world’s attention again, thanks to a popular Japanese exchange – Bitpoint!

Bitpoint’s expansion in Latin America

Bitpoint is a Japanese exchange platform that was founded in 2016 in Tokyo. It’s fully licensed and operates on the Japanese market that is one of the biggest crypto industries on the planet. It has already opened trading platforms in five Asian countries but Panama is the first over-the-seas expansion. The decision was officially announced yesterday and today, on December 13th, there will be a launch event held in a popular government organisation complex – Ciudad del Saber (in Spanish City of Knowledge), in Panama. A new Twitter profile for the Panamanian branch of Bitpoin has also been created recently.

Why Panama?

The Japanese company wants to enable the citizens of Panama and business entities from the country to use the exchange. At the same time, Bitpoint will avail itself of Panama’s ACH (Automated Clearing House) bank wires for fiat deposits and withdrawals. Japan is a highly developed market when it comes to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Moving across the seas to expand the network and evolve was an obvious next step.

In Panama, we will employ our knowledge and standards to the satisfaction and tranquility of the local banking industry whom we regard as our partners, The Senior Executive Officer of Bitpoint
