An Iranian Official: ‘Blockchain Can Boost The Economy’

Alireza Daliri, the head of management development department of the vice presidency for science and technology in Iran, is convinced that the blockchain technology could make a tech-based boost to the country’s economy.

The Middle East countries have got into the blockchain industry a little bit later than the rest of the world. However, they are trying to catch up. A month ago, a startup based in UAE announced its plan to launch the First Islamic Crypto Exchange (FICE).

To improve the economy

According to Albawaba, a local news outlet, Alireza Daliri is convinced that using the blockchain technology can help the country’s economy. He said:

“This is possible with empowering the infrastructure of the blockchain technology with the help of government and private sector.”

He also said that Iran should work with other nations on emerging technologies including blockchain. Daliri also brought up the government’s concerns about the technology. The head of the management development department stated that the advantages of blockchain  outweigh the disadvantages. The politician is sure that the blockchain can be used in various areas in the future.
